Drake, Cudi, Wale in GQ...

As 2009 comes to end, a fan of music, not just hip hop, can only look back and appreciate some of the new artists that have graced the world with their musical talents. I'm speaking of the artists by the name of Drake, Kid Cudi, and Wale. In the upcoming issue of GQ magazine, the three new comers speak on how they have killed the persona of gangsta rap by talking about things other than street life. The article is a good read and you cannot sleep on these three! In focus, Drake has the most anticipated album of 2010 with his first studio album titled Thank Me Later due out in mid-February with features including The Dream, Pharrell, Jay-Z, Kanye West and more. If his mixtape So Far Gone created this new era of music imagine what he will do with A-list features. He continues to put out new music every other day and it's only getting better. You can get some of his new tracks off his blog, http://www.octobersveryown.blogspot.com/. STOP SLEEPING!

ONE FOR ONE

If you are a resident of Los Angeles, I would hope by now you are familiar with TOMS Shoes and the founder, Blake Mycoskie's vision. The company's motto is One for One, meaning with every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. Since their beginning in 2006, TOMS shoes has given over 150,000 pairs of shoes and with your support they are planning to double that number by this year! This is a great cause to support! You can visit http://www.tomsshoes.com/ for more information on the company, retail locations, and how you can get involved with the movement.
